American bakeries range from wholesale operations that supply restaurants to neighborhood shops that sell bread, pastries, cookies and cakes over the counter, and many of them also pour coffee. Bagel shops boil and bake on site and sell out of favorite flavors by late morning; donut shops open before dawn and are often family-run; patisseries and cake studios take custom orders for weddings and birthdays and usually need one to two weeks' notice. Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Prices are posted per item, by the dozen or by the pound, and most shops now take cards and mobile payment.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 7 am–6 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. We picked up two empanada flights to try and they were all excellent. Loved the sauces too. We also got two cookies --- so good, not too sweet! Missed getting a picture of all the empanadas :(

My boyfriend came to OBRA a few weeks and mentioned how much he loved it so we came on Saturday morning so I can try it! I got the breakfast empanada cause he said it was good. I liked it but the only thing I will say is that there was barely any egg in the empanada. I think what made up for it was the sauces but I do wish there was more egg which my boyfriend said last time there was. My boyfriend ordered the breakfast burrito. We are very picky about our breakfast burrito but this one was so good. The combination of the flavors was Pete etc and the creamy cilantro sauce inside tied everything together. It is now one of his fav burrito in OC! We would come back for the burrito. I want to try their beef balls and he wants to try the Cuban sandwich. The service was good, the 2 women working were nice. It's a new space so I everything was clean and organized. I do have to say, their playlist was fire!

We tried the beef, chicken, ropa vieja, bbq pork empanadas, beef ball. For dessert we got the banana & nutella supreme cigar and dulce de leche cookies. The empanadas were ok, needs a little bit more flavor, the beef ball was good. The banana cigar needed more banana flavor. Cookies were good. We had the tres leches latte, nothing special. Overall price didn’t match the quality.

My wife and I have been to this place twice in a month and both times did not disappoint. This place is simultaneously a coffee shop, a bakery, breakfast spot, and an empanaderia. I’m not usually a coffee drinker but the Tres Leches Latte was fantastic… BOTH times. I was warned it might be a bit sweet but it was perfect. The Ropa Viejo Burrito my wife had was amazing. And the Breakfast Sandwich on a croissant that I had was tasty and wonderful. We ordered an Almond Guava Cookie cake for desert the first time. That blended the sweetness of the guava with the richness of the almond in a perfect balance. I NEED to try the empanadas because they look delicious. There is so much to choose from that we will be coming back very soon. Catering is available as well so check out their menu online. About to try their cheesecake!

First Obra Bakery in Orange County πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰. It is located at what used to be 'The Lil Onion Mexican' restaurant. My first time here was a few weeks ago just back in March and came back again this morning for some breakfast snacks & pastries. I had the pleasure to be the first to try out their latest dessert creations - Nutella and Coconut Flans (Thank you to the owner/manager for letting me be your guinea pig!)πŸ₯°πŸ€€ Bulk ordering seems to be the norm when you hit up any bakeries and especially when you have a big family who loves to eat & try new foods too πŸ˜† Quick rundown of all the ordered foods. **Empanadas** - Beef & Potato (it was okay; not salty nor greasy) - Sausage (tasty and not too spicy either) - Beef Ropa Vieja (tasty and tons of shredded beef with each bite) - Veggie (also tasty and will have to try out the 'Vegan' empanadas another time) - Seafood Paella (special flavor of the month in March; family-approved 😁 🀀) **OBRA POTATO BALLS** - Beef Potato Balls (Juicy & savory ground beef, basil/spinaches? and mozzarella cheese inside. Definitely bigger and tasted better than 'Porto's Bakery Beef Potato balls). - Chicken Potato Balls (it was good but the beef potato ball tas
